Montgomery County (Md.) board selects new superintendent

Stamford (Conn.) district administrator will replace Jerry Weast

From The Washington Post: The Montgomery County (Md.)school board has named Joshua P. Starr, head of the Stamford (Conn.) district, to replace Superintendent Jerry D. Weast. Starr, 41, has presided over the Stamford school system since 2005. It has 15,000 students in 20 schools and is about one-tenth the size of the Montgomery County system. Weast is retiring after 12 years as superintendent.
