Court says New York City can close 22 schools

Teachers union had challenged city's decision to close the poorly performing schools

From The New York Times: A judge has ruled that New York City can proceed with plans to close 22 schools because of poor performance and place 15 charter schools in the buildings of traditional schools. Justice Paul G. Feinman of New York State Supreme Court ruled that the teachers union. which filed the suit, failed to prove that the city had acted improperly in its treatment of the closing schools.
