More charter schools sought in Massachusetts

State law has loosened limits on charters

From The Boston Globe: Massachusetts has seen a surge in applications for new charter schools. By the Aug. 2 deadline, the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education had received 42 applications, the most in more than a decade, and three times as many as last year, when it received 14.
Legislation that passed last winter loosened longstanding limitations on charter school expansion.
