Voters in Chetopa (Kan.) district approve $8.5 million bond issue

In a vote split along geographical lines, the Chetopa (Kan.) district has won voter approval of an $8.5 million bond proposal to benefit schools in Chetopa and St. Paul. St. Paul became part of the Chetopa district in 2005. Residents in Neosho County, where St. Paul is, voted 394 to 46 in favor of the proposal; in Labette County, where Chetopa is, the vote was 80 in favor and 383 opposed.
