St. Francis Xavier doesn’t have enough students to remain viable

From The Baton Rouge Advocate: After 90 years in operation, St. Francis Xavier Catholic School in Baton Rouge, La., is in danger of closing its doors in May. St. Francis has 120 students, and about a quarter of them end up not paying the $3,600 annual tuition — three years ago the school had almost 200 students. The pastor says the school needs to have between 300 to 350 students enrolled to have a viable future.
