Student suicides force New York high school to confront ethnic divisions

Three suicides in three years of students at East Hampton High School in East Hampton, N.Y., has forced the school community to deal an uncomfortable ethnic integration problem that had been festering for years. The New York Times reports that the deaths of the students, all of whom were Hispanic, brought to the surface a division between the area's economically comfortable residents and newer, poorer Hispanic residents, whose numbers have been rising rapidly.
