Private girls school gets permission to open charter campus in Baltimore
Nov. 25, 2013
Roland Park Country School, a private school for girls, has received permission from the Baltimore city school district to open a public charter school for middle school girls in 2015. The Baltimore Sun says the charter school would be named for Lillie May Carroll Jackson, a civil rights pioneer. Officials say they want a diverse socio-economic student body, not to exceed 288 fifth-through-eighth-graders. They are looking for a site that is reasonably close to the Country School campus.
