Pontiac (Mich.) district gives state more control of district finances

The Pontiac (Mich.) School Board has approved an agreement that gives the state greater oversight of the district’s troubled finances. The Detroit News says the board acted after being told that by November, cash flow would be negative $1 million and was estimated to grow to more than $9 million by March. Pontiac schools ended the fiscal year June 30 with a $37.7 million deficit.
