Open campus designs in Florida raise security concerns

Dozens of Central Florida schools consist of numerous campus buildings and classrooms that open to the outside, not to an interior hallway. The Orlando Sentinel reports that those designs raise serious concerns about campus security. Federal and state authorities and other experts recommendthat schools be built with a "single point of entry" to help keep outsiders away from classrooms — and the children and staff inside.
