Ohio district votes to close a middle school

The Cleveland Heights-University Heights (Ohio) School Board has voted to close Wiley Middle School. The Cleveland Plain Dealer says Wiley will close at the end of the school year and the more than 400 students will be sent to Roxboro and Monticello middle schools. The closure is part of a schools facilities plan that a $134.8 million bond issue is financing. University Heights Mayor Susan Infeld says she does not believe voters who approved the bond issue earlier this month understood that a yes vote for the bond issue meant that Wiley would close.
