Judge upholds charter school space allocation in Los Altos (Calif.) district

Bullis Charter challenged district's decision to split its space between 2 locations

A judge has upheld the Los Altos School District’s decision to split the space for a charter school between two facilities. The Bullis Charter School challenged the district's decision to place the charter at two sites, Egan Junior High School and Blach Intermediate School. The judge's decision stated: "There is no requirement that a school district provide an offer of facilities to a charter school only at contiguous sites. Rather, a school district may determine that more than one facility may be included in the offer as long as there are no other facilities available within the district.” The Los Altos district says in a news release that the ruling is the seventh from a judge in Santa Clara County to decide in favor of the district and reject the charter school's legal challenge to district facilities obligations.
