Intermediate, middle schools will be torn down in West (Texas) district

The West (Texas) Independent School District board has voted to demolish the intermediate school and parts of the middle school damaged by a fertilizer plant explosion in April. The Waco Tribune-Herald says the board voted to demolish the entire intermediate school structure, as well as several structures on the middle school campus, including the cafeteria, a transportation facility, storage space and maintenance facility. Discussion of demolishing the high school was deferred. The whole process of rebuilding the schools will take about two years. The district's insurance policy will cover only about half of the cost of demolishing and rebuilding the schools.
