Indiana's State Superintendent of Public Instruction has confirmed that someone manipulated the rating last year for a politically connected charter school. The Indianapolis Star reports that the change in the rating for Christel House Academy in Indianapolis has raised doubts about the validity of the A-to-F grading system and is likely to delay this year's grades. Supt. Glenda Ritz says that the grade change occurred under her predecessor, Tony Bennett. Bennett resigned under fire last week as Florida Commissioner of Education after e-mails were disclosed showing he insisted that low grades for Christel House Academy be altered.
