Illinois high school undergoes major renovation

The $68 million renovation and construction project, the largest in the school’s history, will nearly double the size of the school.

In addition to getting a new principal, Marion High School in Marion, Ill., will soon  undergo a major renovation. Jason Varner, who will become principal on July 1, has been charged with overseeing the school’s construction project, in addition to taking over other administrative responsibilities.

The $68 million renovation and construction project, the largest in the school’s history, will nearly double the size of the school. It will include a health education center and a completely renovated gymnasium with three basketball courts, a tennis court, weight room, dance studio, and an indoor track, according to the Daily Republican.
