Former Pontiac (Mich.) administrator charged with stealing $236,000 in school funds

News release: A former assistant superintendent in the Pontiac (Mich.) school district has been charged in federal court with stealing $236,000 in school funds. Jumanne Sledge, 40, allegedly directed a district employee in 2010 to write Sledge a vendor check in the amount of $236,000, payable to "Leadership Academy." Sledge subsequently used the money to pay personal expenses. Sledge left the Pontiac district last year and was working as an administrator in the Inskter (Mich.) district, but resigned after being indicted.
