Building on campus of Julian High School in Julian, Calif., was vacated years ago.

The science building at Julian High School in Julian, Calif., which underwent pricey renovations before being abandoned nine years ago, after officials determined it was unsafe — will finally be demolished. UT-San Diego reports that by next school year, a new building will rise and the portable classrooms where kids have been taught science for nearly a decade will be a thing of the past, says David Schlottman, principal of the 155-student high school and superintendent of the Julian Union High School District.
