Charter schools see enrollment growth in St. Paul, Minn.

Student numbers for charters in St. Paul are up 8.4% over last year

Charter school enrollment in St. Paul, Minn., is up nearly 1,000 students--12,241, compared with 11,296 a year ago. The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that in contrast, St. Paul School District ernollment is up 17 students, from 37,840 in 2012-13 to 37,857 as of Oct. 24. Charter school growth has been fueled in part by construction projects such as Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists’ $4 million renovation of the Lowry Building, a $12.6 million addition/renovation at Hmong College Prep Academy and the relocation of the High School for Recording Arts to a new space.
