8 charter schools in the Broward County (Fla.) district have closed during the 2012-13 school year.

When Next Generation Charter School in Lauderdale Lakes, Fla., abruptly closed its doors in April, it became the eighth charter school in the Broward County school district to shut down during 2012-13.
