California charter association says 6 schools should be closed

The California Charter Schools Association is calling for six underperforming charter schools to be closed. The Sacramento Bee says the schools fall below the association's Minimum Criteria for Renewal Four of the schools have their charters up for renewal this year--New Designs Charter School, Los Angeles; Northwest Prep Charter School, Santa Rosa; R.A.A.M.P. Charter Academy, Antioch; and Nueva Vista Language Academy; Delano. The other two schools the association says should close are ones that had their charters renewed despite continuing low performance. They are Leadership High School; San Francisco; and West Sacramento Early College Prep; West Sacramento.
