Broward County (Fla.) district doesn't have funds to pay for technology upgrades

After covering facility, transportation and security needs, the district doesn't have much funding left for technology.

The Broward County (Fla.) district is falling behind in technology and doesn't have the funding to do much about it. The South Florida Sun-Sentinel says the district has $35 million in its capital budget. But most of that is earmarked for fixing deteriorating school facilities, replacing aging buses and improving security, so there's not much left for computer upgrades. The district estimates that it can fund only $16 million of the $59 million identified technology needs.
