News release: Oklahoma State University has created OstateTV, an online video network to showcase the school's events and people.

The university says in a news release that the service, on the Internet at http://OState.tv, will be accessible on personal computers, tablet devices and smart phones.

“We're excited to launch OStateTV, a digital video network which will enable us to showcase our great work here at Oklahoma State and to fulfill our land-grant mission of instruction, research and outreach,” OSU President Burns Hargis says in the release. “Video enables us to connect with the OSU family; whether they're students, or alumni, or donors or just friends of the university.”

OStateTV is launching its service with more than 30 online channels of content. Users can access content via topics—such as Arts, Humanities; Education, Learning; Human Health, Wellness; Research; Sports, Leisure—or through the university's various campuses and colleges.

Officials say the service will include many live events, including the university's Oct. 20 homecoming parade and its Nov. 1 OstateTEDx. It also will carry live athletic events, musical concerts, featured speakers and more.
