Universities with the greatest numbers of international students, 2018-19

New York University retains the distinction of having more international students than any other U.S. institution.

The number of international students attending U.S. higher education institutions in 2018-19 was almost exactly the same as the year before, according to the latest Open Doors report from the International Institute of Education.

The 2019 Open Doors report found that 1,095,299 students from other nations were enrolled at colleges and universities in the United States in 2018-19, a mere 507 students (five-hundredths of 1%) more than the 1,094,792 enrolled in 2017-18.

New York University, which had the most international students in 2016-17 and 2017-18, topped the list again in 2018-19. The university had 19,605 international students enrolled.
