As it did last year, New York University had more international students than any other U.S. institution.

The number of international students attending U.S. higher education institutions rose slightly in 2017-18, 

The International Institute of Education's annual Open Doors report determined that 1,094,792 students from other nations were enrolled at colleges and universities in the United States. That represents a 1.5 percent increase over 2016-17, when 1,078,822 international students were pursuing their education in the United States.

New York University, which had the most international students in 2016-17, retained that distinction in 2017-18. The university had 17,552 international students enrolled.
