States whose education funding has fallen the most since the 2008 recession

After the 2008 recession, most states made significant cuts to education formula funding, the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities says. In 2016-17,  nearly half the states were providing less general aid per student than they were in 2007-08.

Here are the 10 states where general funding per student in 2016-17 was lagging farthest behind 2007-08 spending levels.
