State's higher-education appropriations

Data compiled by the State Higher Education Executive Officers shows the decline in funding for colleges and univesities.

Using constant adjusted 2012 dollars, the State Higher Education Executive Officers calculates that educational appropriations per full-time-equivalent student for colleges and universities in the United States has declined 23 percent.

Below is a list of the 10 states with the steepest drops in appropriations.
