A little more than 1 million international students were attending U.S. higher education institutions in 2015-16, according to The International Institute of Education's Open Doors report.

As it has for several years, China leads the list of nations with the greatest numbers of students enrolled in U.S. colleges and universities. Here are the 10 nations with the most students who've come to the United States to further their education.
