Georgia district looks at having panic buttons for every teacher

The Douglas County (Ga.) School District is looking at adding a system to every classroom that would essentially give each teacher a panic button that could be used in emergencies. The Douglas County Sentinel says the audio enhancement system would include a microphone on a lanyard that all teachers would wear and speakers that would be placed around every classroom. Sensors would be placed in the ceiling of classrooms and if a teacher presses the panic button on his or her mic, a control center at the school would be alerted.
