A 7-year-old girl was killed and several students were injured Thursday morning in Trinity County, Texas, when a truck crashed into a school van that was stopped on the highway.
The victim has been identified as Journey Magness, 7. The Trinity County Sheriff says she is the daughter of Sheriff's Deputy David Magness.
Ten other students, ranging in age from 5 to 15 years old, sustained injuries that were considered non-life-threatending, authorities say.
The children on the van were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, police say.
Trinity is about 80 miles north of Houston.
