A new project at Illinois State University, Bloomington, Ill., has provided a synthetic infield for the Redbirds baseball team.

The improvements at Duffy Bass Field included excavation, new rock sub grade and drainage, storm sewer improvements, synthetic turf installation, a new pitching mound and bases.

The project was completed in March, in time for the start of the 2013 baseball season.

Byrne & Jones Sports (Maryland Heights, Mo.) worked with an unusually snowy winter to complete the project in just four months.
