The Raynor Country Day School, a private school in Westhampton, N.Y., has agreed to make the programs at the school and its summer camp accessible to children with diabetes.

The U.S. Justice Department says the school has agreed to accept children with diabetes in both the school and summer camp programs, and agreed to supervise students who are monitoring their blood sugar and insulin intake using insulin pumps.

The federal department became involved after two families had alleged that their children were not allowed to attend the summer camp. The parents asserted that their children were admitted to the summer camp initially, but after the school learned of their use of insulin pumps, they were told they could not attend.
