In group hugs on the Drill Field and in a convocation with President Bush in the sports arena while thousands more watched via a jumbo screen in the football stadium, the 26,000 students of Virginia Tech found solace in one another. They wore their trademark orange and maroon, they chanted the Hokie Cheer, and they talked firmly of healing.
