Alabama college plans facility in natural preserve

Jacksonville State University will open field school in Little River Canyon preserve.

Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Ala., will seek LEED certification when it begins construction next month on a Field School in the Little River Canyon National Preserve. The (Fort Payne) Times-Journal says the The 26,000 square foot education center will include public spaces for meetings, a library, museum, classrooms and hiking trails. The facility is expected to open in 2009.
