Tip helps police thwart school attack in North Carolina

Student disclosed on MySpace that he planned to "shoot up" his high school

A teenager who authorities say was plotting to "shoot up" aNorth Carolina high school is in custody because of a tip from a teen who chatted with the suspect online. Investigators took a 15-year-old boy into custody last week and found at his home a computer and DVD with plans for an attack on Brevard High School in Transylvania County, N.C. Police would not say whether weapons were found. The boy had told a 16-year-old girl from New York earlier that day that he planned to "shoot up a school."
