Short on funds, California district cuts back on school resource officers

March 1, 2007
Grossmont Union district has cut funding for officers at two high schools.

The district has cut funding for school resource officer positions this year at Valhalla and Steele Canyon high schools in Rancho San Diego. It marks the first time since the March 2001 shootings at Santana High in Santee and Granite Hills High in El Cajon that the district does not have officers at all schools.
