Nevada administrator is chosen as superintendent in Jordan (Utah) district

From The Salt Lake Tribune: The Jordan (Utah) School District has done something for the first time in its 105-year history: It has hired a superintendent from outside its own ranks. Patrice Johnson comes to the district from the Clark County (Nev.)district, where she was associate superintendent. She also is the first woman to hold the top job in the Jordan district. Johnson, 57, takes the helm of Jordan district June 1 with an annual salary of $185,000. She replaces Barry Newbold, who retired in January after spending his entire 35-year career in Jordan, including 14 years as chief.
