Cardin School facility will be adjacent to space it is renting

From The Baltimore Sun: After a years-long search for new headquarters, the Shoshana S. Cardin School, Baltimore's only independent Jewish high school, has decided to stay put and construct new buildings next to the synagogue where it has been renting space since it opened in 2003. If all goes well, construction could begin in the fall, with the hope of opening the first of the buildings in fall 2011. Plans call for a two-story central building connected to "pods" encompassing 25,000 square feet.

NOVEMBER 2009...from The Baltimore Sun: An independent Jewish high school in Baltimore has announced plans to relocate its campus to the grounds of a former institution for the developmentally disabled in Owings Mills, Md. The Shoshana S. Cardin School for students in grades nine through 12 will purchase 55 acres in Owings Mills. The site was part of the Rosewood Center, a 300-acre state-run institution for the developmentally disabled that closed in June after its remaining patients were relocated to community settings.
