Inspector says Chicago should rescind residency waiver granted to district's chief administrative officer

From The Chicago Tribune: The inspector general for Chicago Public Schools says the district should rescind the residency waiver granted to Chief Administrative Officer Tim Cawley, the third-highest-ranking schools executive. Thee inspector general, James Sullivan says the Board of Education improperly granted Cawley a "special needs" residency waiver because of who he was and not because the position was difficult to fill. Cawley lives in the affluent suburb of Winnetka, north of the city. He had expressed concerns about taking the school job because his family had adopted a 12-year-old girl last year from Ukraine, and he was reluctant to uproot her.
