Despite praise, Portland, Ore., charter school does not get contract renewed

Board members say Leadership and Entrepreneurship Charter High needs more stable funding

From The Portland Oregonian: The Portland (Ore.) School Board has decided not to renew the contract of three-year-old Leadership and Entrepreneurship (LEP) Charter High School . Board members and district staff members praise the school's ability to serve students who aren't being served in traditional public school settings, but six of seven board members say the school's financial problems have not been sufficiently resolved.
