Felons worked construction projects at Florida school
The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind in St. Augustine opened its gates over the past two years to nearly a dozen construction workers with convictions for offenses such as drug trafficking and violent crimes, including sexual battery on a child. Critics say the school's administration placed a higher value on completing construction projects than protecting deaf and blind students. Administrators have insisted they were dealing with an emergency situation and that the felons were supervised while they were at the school.
