Report finds that Sumter County board doesn't understand policies and procedures

From The Americus Times-Recorder: A grand jury has recommended that the Sumter County (Ga.) School Board be removed from office. The grand jury was empaneled to investigate the board and its ability to function properly. A report from the jury's investigative committee found problems indicative of a “a lack of training and understanding of school board policies and procedures.” The grand jury cited confusion, misinterpretation or lack of compliance with board policies and cited incidents involving insufficient communication among the entire board on issues, and interference with school administrators relating to disciplinary actions.
