New school will open with grades 6 and 9

From The Houston Chronicle: The Houston Independent School District is set to open an all-girls campus next fall, offering a free college-prep education to children from mostly low-income families.The school will open with grades 6 and 9, The district hopes it will draw students who have fled the district for private schools, charters or the suburbs. The city's only other all-girls public school is run by the charter network KIPP.
