Facility will help university establish Division I hockey programs

From The Wilkes-Barre-Times-Leader: Pennsylvania State University is moving forward with plans to build an ice arena on its University Park campus that will enable the school to establish a Division I men’s and women’s ice hockey program. The 200,000-square-foot facility is projected to cost $75 million. Much of the funding for the arena and the hockey program is coming from an $88 million donation from Penn State alumnus Terry Pegula and his wife, Kim. work on the project is expected to begin next month. The architects are Crawford Architects and Bohlin Cywinski Jackson. September 2010 from The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: Penn State has received the largest private gift in its history -- $88 million. Terry Pegula and his wife Kim donated the funds to build a new multi-purpose hockey arena and to help establish Division I men's and women's hockey programs.
