A 16-year-old boy has been arrested after stabbing five boys and himself at Mountain View High School in Orem, Utah.

Fox 13 Salt Lake City reports that the stabbing happened in the boys' locker room just before 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Four of the stabbing victims were treated at a local hospital. Police say none of the patients' injuries is considered life-threatening.

Authorities say the suspect, a sophomore, was previously home-schooled and was new to Mountain View High this year. Officials with the Alpine School District say the boy is a straight-A student, regularly attends class and has no previous disciplinary issues.

"After interviewing the suspect, victims and witnesses we believe this had nothing to do with race, religion, or ethnicity," a statement on the Orem police Facebook page says. "The suspect had not been bullied by any of the victims, this was not retaliatory....The victims in this case appear to have been chosen simply because of their proximity to the suspect at the time the incident started."
