Accused shooter invited to return to Florida university

Eastern Florida State College has invited a student currently under investigation for his role in a shooting back to class. The student was involved in a fight during which two brothers allegedly attacked him with a pool stick near one of the campus buildings.

The student, 24-year-old Landrick Hamilton, went to his car, got a gun, and subsequently shot one of the brothers who was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorizes told USA Today.

All three of the men involved in the altercation are claiming self-defense. According to the university president, the self-defense claim prompted the decision to invite Hamilton back to class.

The other two men involved in the shooting incident were not students at the university. No decision has been made as to whether disciplinary action will be taken against Hamilton.
