Urbana to get an upgraded library

An anonymous donor gave $70,000 for improvements to Urbana University’s library, which will be the first improvement made at the university since Franklin University acquired the school in April.

An anonymous donor gave $70,000 for improvements to Urbana University’s library, which will be the first improvement made at the university since Franklin University acquired the school in April.

The majority of the work will center on the library’s lobby and the area outside, according to the Springfield News-Sun. School officials hope that this will precede many changes coming to campus under the new owners.

The lobby is slated to be a high-tech center, and officials would like create an outdoor classroom with new landscaping and a brick path connecting the library to campus museum buildings.
