Of the administrators leading the nation's 10 largest school districts in 2019, five assumed their positions in 2018 and a sixth in December 2017.
Only one of 10 largest districts has a superintendent who has been in the job more than a decade—Miami-Dade County superintendent Albert Carvalho, who was appointed to the position in 2008.
