South Dakota legislation would increase student privacy level

South Dakota students may see an increase in their privacy protection if proposed legislation restricting access to student data is passed. The South Dakota House of Representatives voted 70-0 limit and place sharp restrictions on sharing student data, the Rapid City Journal reported. The Senate unanimously approved the bill in January. The bill is now in its fourth version and will return to the Senate for more consideration before a final vote.
