Rain postpones planned opening of middle school in Virginia

Tyler Middle School in Isle of Wight County district will open a year from now instead of in January

Excessive rain has forced the Isle of Wight County (Va.) District to delay the opening of the Georgie D. Tyler Middle School in Windsor. The Tidewater News reports that the campus now is scheduled to open in the fall of 2014; the original planned called for it to open in January 2014. District officials say 45 to 65 days of inclement weather in the last nine months have slowed construction of the facility.
