Planners reject zoning change for Villanova University expansion

The Radnor Township (Pa.) Planning Commission has rejected Villanova University's request for a zoning change that would allow a major expansion of its campus. The Philadelphia Inquirer says the $200 million plan called for new residence halls, a parking garage, a performing arts center and stores. Residents who oppose the expansion say it would transform a quiet neighborhood into a noisy extension of the 10,600-student campus.
