Neighbors don't want Orange County (Fla.) district to build high school

The Orange County (Fla.) school district would like to build a high school on a 66-acre tract in the western part of the county to relieve crowding at West Orange High School, where the enrollment in grades 9 to 12 is close to 3,500. But, The Orlando Sentinel says, area residents say a new high school would not be a good fit. About 300 people attended a meeting to voice concerns about noise, traffic and student safety. To build the school, the district must receive zoning approval from the county commissioners.
